Scott D. Miller, CPA/ABV, PFS, CVA

Mr. Miller received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College and an MBA from Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant with these additional accreditations from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA): Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV) designation and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation. Mr. Miller is also accredited as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).

Widely acknowledged as one of the leading national authorities on ESOP valuations for closely held companies, Scott Miller founded Enterprise Services, Inc. in 1993. Prior to its founding, he served as Vice President-Finance and a plan fiduciary of a large ESOP company. He has over 20 years of ESOP experience and has been personally involved with over 600 ESOP clients, assisting with valuations, strategic planning, financing, fairness opinions, terminations, and litigation support. Scott Miller and his firm continue to grow their ESOP client base by performing valuation services for approximately fifty new clients each year, an average of one a week.

A frequent speaker to industry and professional groups, Mr. Miller is often published in professional journals and is the author and presenter of a number of technical seminars for the AICPA and NACVA regarding ESOPs, ESOP valuations, and buying and selling companies. He has authored and led seminars and spoken at conferences for various professional groups on ESOPs, business valuations, and strategic tax planning throughout the country, including over 20 state CPA societies, The National Center for Employee Ownership, and The ESOP Association. Mr. Miller has served as Chairman of numerous CPA committees, was a founding member of the NACVA education board, and co-founded and served as President of both the ESOP Association Wisconsin State Chapter and the NACVA Wisconsin State Chapter.


Greg L. Carlson, CPA, CVA

Greg L. Carlson, is Vice President of Enterprise Services, Inc., which provides consulting services to business, specializing in business valuation.  Mr. Carlson has extensive industry experience both valuing companies and acquiring them.  He has been actively involved with the valuation of hundreds of companies and has extensive valuation experience with cooperatives, closely held firms and ESOP companies.

Professional Experience
Mr. Carlson has an extensive background in senior financial management, an ideal background for professional business valuations.  Before joining ESI, he served as Vice President Finance for a diversified food company helping it grow from $50 million to over $350 million through mergers and acquisitions.  He was an integral part of the analysis team that identified, assessed, and eventually acquired numerous companies.  His M&A experience gives him a solid background in the analysis and assessment of valuing companies from an industry and investment perspective. 

Mr. Carlson has extensive experience with cooperatives, entities with unique equity structures.  As the Vice President of Finance in a large cooperative, he has balanced the interests of multiple parties to the equity structure of the firm.  The ownership characteristics of a cooperative demand a high level of disclosure, trust and financial reporting accuracy.  He also has extensive experience with ESOPs and the operational environments of closely held companies.  And, as Chief Financial Officer of a medical services firm, he has gained a senior level financial expertise from various industries.  Since joining ESI, Mr. Carlson has combined the practical side of analysis with the theory of valuation principles, and has completed hundreds of client assignments, including business valuations, fairness opinions, and stock transactions.
